Hajj is a Meeting Under Brotherhood
Another wisdom of the hajj is also the fact that Muslims from all around the world come together and meet each other. They are surrounded by the spiritual atmosphere of the Islamic brotherhood as they tend towards the Ka’bah with the same intention and purpose although their colors, races vary from each other. Hajj rules out all these differences in such a world where people suffer from segregation by skin color, and where people are valued by their authority, title, and social status. Pilgrims wearing plainly designed dresses called "ihram" face the reality that there is no supremacy rather than worshiping Allah (swt) properly and avoiding bad behaviors.
During hajj, a believer perceptibly sees how large a family he/she belongs to by being a member of the Islamic ummah. One learns the fact that being religious fellows with others is more valuable and meaningful than any kind of kinship and relationship in the world by experience. In this way, the verse of“The believers are but brothers.” (Hujurat, 49/10) arouses again and gives life to believing hearts.
According to Prophet Muhammad's (saw) analogy of believers, "A believer to another believer is like a building whose different parts enforce each other." (Bukhari, Adab, 36) They should feel the pleasure of standing shoulder to shoulder in tawaf, sa’i and prayers. Even if the language barrier makes it harder to get along with each other, they should feel the comfort of understanding each other by the language of amity. They should try to give priority to the elderly, sick, weak believers and help them, be attentive to share their blessings with the ones in need and prefer to meet the needs of religious brothers and sisters rather than their own nafs.
