Proof of Human Nature

Humans come into this world with an inclination towards religion, and therefore comprehend -with the intellect he acquired- the existence of God.  Prophet Muhammad (saw) said on this topic “Every child is born on fitrah (human nature), and then his parents make him Jewish, Christian or Magi” (al-Bukhari, Tafsir, (Rum) 2). Although people vary in ethnicity, color and place, the concept of God always existed.
People only differ in the attributes and qualities of this creator. Some people believe in the stars and the Sun, and some believe in a hero or an animal. However, the belief of a God ruling over the world has been around since the first humans up until our times. That is why this belief is a primary feature of human beings.
The inclination towards the belief in a divine existence opened up the depths of the human soul. The Sun that enlightens the world brightly, the stars that decorate the sky entirely, the seas as far as the eye can see and all other things…. All of them remind humans of the Supreme Power they have forgotten and inform them about the Almighty Creator.
A person might distance himself from the belief in God if his personality is entrapped by worldly gains and desires. Prejudices and careless behavior concerning the truth may lead to oblivion of the divine. But this belief will never be lost because it is a part of human nature, it will only be forgotten. When a person is encountered with a life-threatening situation, he feels this feeling deeply. He will not turn to the beings he adores, rather, he will turn to Supreme Power he believes to be the creator and ruler of the world. The following verse explains us this reality:
“And when they board a ship, they supplicate Allah wholeheartedly. But when He delivers them to the land, at once they associate others with Him.” (Ankabut, 29/65)
