Waqt (Time for Salah)

Time is one of the two things humanity takes for granted and uses in vain.  For this reason, it is of great importance to make good use of time, to organize it, and to do everything on its own time, in a programmed way. Prophet Muhammad (saw) answered the question “What deeds are the best?” with “To perform the (daily compulsory) prayers at their (early) stated fixed times” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Tawhid 48), emphasizing the importance of time for worship.  By observing the salah times in certain parts of the day and night, a person both gains time awareness and remembers his Lord at different moments of the day, among the deceptive occupations of the world. This worship is also an opportunity for the forgiveness of sins and evils committed between salahs. (Hud, 11/114) Almighty Allah reveals that time is a prerequisite for salah by saying “Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times.” (Nisa, 4/103). While “ada” is to perform prayer in its prescribed time, “qada” is to perform it after its prescribed time passed.
