We Should Believe in All Prophets Without Discriminating Among Them

According to the faith in prophets in Islam, it is necessary to believe in all prophets without discrimination. The principle of faith in prophets of Islam is realized by believing in all messengers of Allah. Therefore, it is unacceptable to believe in Prophet Muhammad (saw) and not to believe in some or any of the previous prophets or to believe in the previous prophets and reject the Last Prophet. A person, who does not believe in one of the prophets sent by Allah, cannot be a mu'min (believer). Although the prophets have superiority over each other in terms of having various features, there is no distinction for believers in believing in the prophets. In this respect, it is said in a verse: "The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], 'We make no distinction between any of His messengers'." (Baqarah, 2/285)
The prophets confirmed the prophets sent before them, and they heralded the prophets that would come after them. Therefore, believing in some prophets and not believing in others contains a contradiction within itself. This situation is likened to a path between believing and blasphemy in a verse, and those who believe in some prophets and not in the others are seen as "true disbelievers": "Indeed, those who disbelieve in Allah and His messengers and wish to discriminate between Allah and His messengers and say, "We believe in some and disbelieve in others," and wish to adopt a way in between. Those are the disbelievers, truly.” (Nisa, 4/150-151)
