TORAH

The Qur'an gives information about the Torah in many chapters. The revelation sent down to the Prophet Musa called a “book” (Baqarah, 2/53, 87; An'am, 6/154), “scripture” (Najm, 53/36; A'la, 87/19) and “the criterion” (Baqarah, 2/53; Anbiya, 21/48).  From the information in the Qur'an, it is understood that the Torah is the general name of the revelation sent to all the prophets of Israel, including Prophet Musa. (Adam, “Yahudilik” Yaşayan Dünya Dinleri, 223)
In the Torah, Allah (swt) wanted the Israelites not to take anyone as Disposer of affairs other than Him. (Isra, 17/2) If they take the Torah as a guide, it would be a light in front of them and enlighten their way, it would be a means for them to know Allah (swt) and reach the hidayah (right path). Thus, the Israelites would attain enlightenment by knowledge and true religion from ignorance and denial thanks to the Torah.  (An’am, 6/91) Because they have everything they needed with details in the book that sent down to them (An’am, 6/154)and it included clear pieces of evidence to allow them to think and take examples. (Qasas, 28/43)  When they accept the Torah as a guide and leader, Allah (swt) would grant His mercy on them. (An'am, 6/154; Ahqaf, 46/12) In other words, if they believe in the Torah and act according to its provisions, Allah (swt) will bestow His love on them, and this love will be a means of happiness in this world and in the Hereafter.
