Salah al-Awwabin

Awwabin is the name of people who often ask for forgiveness from Allah (swt) and seek protection in Him. It is also the name for the six-rak’ah nafilah ritual prayer performed after the evening ritual prayer. Prophet Muhammad (saw) said the following about its virtue: “Whoever performs six rak’ah after the Evening prayer and does not say anything bad in between them, will have a reward equal to the worship of twelve years.” (Sunan Ibn Majah, Iqamah as-salawat 113) This ritual prayer can be performed with a single taslim or three taslims, a taslim after every two rak’ah.
