They are Strong and Fast

Allah (swt) has equipped angels with some features superior to other beings. One of these features is that they are very powerful and fast. In one of the verses in the Qur'an that point to these characteristics of angels, it is stated that Jibril can cover a distance of fifty thousand years in one day.(Ma'arij, 70/4)  It is stated in the verse in question that "the distance of fifty thousand years" is the distance that can be covered with the speed of beings other than angels, but that angels can travel the same distance in one day due to the speed bestowed upon them in their creation. (Baghavi, Ma'alim at-Tanzil, VIII, 220; Qurtubi, Tafsir, XVIII, 281-282)

Sometimes someone would come to the Prophet Muhammad (saw) and ask questions. Before the questioner left or while he was still talking to the Prophet Muhammad (saw), Jibril (as) would send revelations on the subject.(Mujadila, 58/1) This situation can be accepted as another proof that angels are very fast.

Almighty Allah (swt) gave angels the ability to be fast and made them stronger than other beings. While some angels are mentioned in the Qur'an, there is a clear emphasis on their strength. In this context, this attribute is used for Jibril (as). Likewise, it is emphasized that the guardians of Hell, also known as Zabaniyah, are very powerful. In addition, it is reported in the Qur'an that the jinn, who listen to the angels in the sky and try to steal some information from them, are prevented by the powerful guardian angels. (Najm, 53/5; Tahrim, 66/6; Jinn, 72/8)
