History and Anecdotes
The Qur'an mentions the struggles of many prophets from Prophet Adam to Prophet Muhammad (saw). The purpose of the prophets is to eliminate cruelty, exploitation, oppression, polytheism, unbelief and moral corruption in the societies to which they were sent.
The Qur'an also includes the relations of different communities with religion, such as the Ashab al-Kahf, Ashab al-Ukhdud, the Sabaeans and the people of Rass.
Anecdotes have a significant place in Qur’an. With differences in expression, some of them are included in the Torah and were known among Arabs before Islam. However, the Qur'an has conveyed these stories by clearing them from expressions that are incompatible with the great personalities of the prophets.
